Scientists have found a naturally occurring hormone in the body that burns calories and improves insulin processing. Testing was done on mice and found to result in significant weight loss after only 10 days. Human testing may still be a long way off, but the implications are exciting!
Dog Cloning
Cloning your dog is not just science fiction, it’s a reality. When cloning your dog you now have options. If you can’t deal with not having your pet, there are cloning facilities all around the world, including “Advanced Cell Technologies” (ACT) who have already had success with a number of animals! But to clone your dog you may have to go to South Karea.
DecNef Do It Yourself
Technology for decoding and using neurofeedback is not just in movies like the Matrix anymore! How would you like to train your brain at home? For some this is a reality, but its uses might not be they are depicted in Hollywood films. Right now DecNef technology is being used to enhance the brains focus as well as treat for anxiety, adhd, add, headaches, depression, chronic pain, as well as other disorders. There is a link below to a site that offers some of these services.
DecNef for Subliminal Training
Could DecNef be used on an unknowing subject? That’s what the article seems to be saying, and this could have frightening results when in the wrong hands.
If visual learning is possible then subliminal messages could be broadcasted with most modern monitors. This is because frame rates on monitors are faster than the human eye can pick up on. Meaning a message could be projected so fast that it is unrecognizable, yet it is subliminally processed by our brain.
At this point there seems to be much speculation on the actual possibilities of this technology. As of now there is no instant task learning available to the public, but many therapeutic treatments are being used right now using similar technology. Linked below are a few examples like treating anxiety with video games. Leave your questions and comments, this is an ongoing article/discussion.
DecNef + Video games = Psycho therapy
DecNef is not just for downloading skills like in the “Matrix”. A team from Rochester Institute of Technology and St. John Fisher College are working on combining the technology of Decnef (Decoded NeuroFeedback) with video games to treat anxiety.

Is DecNef Real?
The original paper supporting DecNef is attached below and claims success. Let’s put aside the references to the Matrix movies and talk about what was actually done in this experiment which “supports DecNef” and the idea that we can download skills like flying an airplane.
In the Pre-test subjects were shown one of three patterns then asked to report which one was shown. During this time their brain patterns were recorded. Next in the Training Sessions subjects brain patterns were altered to mimic the same pattern that was present while looking at each pattern. The idea is that by recreating the brain activity of an individual looking at a specific pattern the subject will know the pattern that is being incepted even without a visual stimulus. Were they being trained by simply starring into monitor like described in some articles on DecNef? Or did there have to be physical contact with the body like electrodes or a brain prod?
Is DecNef the New Brain Trainer?
Is it possible to download memory or a skill set like like flying a plain? Scientists from Japan as well as Boston University say this is a possibility. Not only that, but they claim to have already had success in this field.
The idea of learning a skill instantly has been very interesting to me ever since watching the Matrix and Demolition Man. But reading this 19 page paper has left me questioning the exact methods and plausibility of these claims. The experiment is composed of a pre-test, training period, and post-test. The claim is that the scores of the group after the DecNef training scored much higher in the post-test.
DecNef is short for Decoded Neurofeedback, and it is the process of capturing and decoding desired brain patterns of an individual and recreating the same pattern in another patients brain. For an example, lets say we want to teach a man to juggle. We first get someone who can juggle and monitor their brain activity while they juggle. Then brain patterns of the subject who cannot juggle are altered to match those of the juggler. And in theory, now both men know how to juggle!
The real question is how well does it work and when will it be available?
DecNef makes Instant Visual Learning Possible (original paper)
Instant learning? Is that possible for the human brain? Scientists from Japan as well as Boston University say yes. Not only that, but they claim to have succeeded with DecNef (Decoded NeuroFeedback) already. This is the beginning of a new generation of learning styles!

But reading this 19 page paper has left me questioning the exact methods and plausibility of these visual learning claims. The experiment is composed of a pre-test (recording brain activity), training period (altering brain activity), and post-test (physical results after altered brain activity). The instant learning test involved visual ques and reported responses. In the Pre-test subjects were shown one of three patterns then asked to write down which one was shown.
